Riding the Dragon: Filling out the form

This is part of my work in the Julia Cameron Artist’s Way series. The work this time is from the book the Artist’s Way at Work: Riding the Dragon. The responses are self-examinations and assessments based on work through a daily series of exercises. While I do keep some material offline as it can be very personal and jarring, I often opt to be fairly open about my experiences, both positive and negative.

3 small changes I can make

…in my workspace
2)use up/clear out more of the boxes and craft projects
3)add another piece of artwork and/or rehang mirror so I can see skyline

…in my car
I’m pretty happy with my car, although today was an experience in the disadvantages of car sharing, since most urgent cares are outside of Minneapolis city limits. 😦
1)Clean it out
2)Set up a little “picnic basket service” with art supplies, blanket, etc. that I can grab when I am out
3)Change my Droid playlist so I have fresh tunes to hear while driving

…in my kitchen
1)Round to on rearranging stuff in the cupboards
2)Figure out if I can do uber-primitive hydroponics and just put seeds in water with nutrients
3)Use things up/move them out if I’m so inclined

…in my wardrobe
1)More long shirts/tunic styles
2)A pair of pumps, black. Possibly two pair, but I’ll really need to take stock of what I have first.
3)Figure out how in the hell to get a garter belt to work properly.

…in my reading list/entertainment
1)go to a movie
2)read more of the books sitting forever – trying to figure out when/how
3)read more fun stuff, not just the “serious” books I collected out of ego rather than interest

…in my living room
1)get rid of the stuff I’ve been meaning to get rid of
3)clear out more of the bookshelves, preferably by reading the books

…in my bedroom
1)humidifier – just done
2)better bedroom closet; obviously still working on it
3)get the spring bedspread in for dry cleaning

…exercise habits
I am up to 4 days a week at the gym most of the time
1)stretch before bedtime
2)get outside time in the morning, even if it’s just opening the balcony door
3)try a Zumba class

…eating habits
1)Read more up on Health at Every Size research
2)Plan meals by picking a vegetable to start with, rather than a meat or grain
3)Eat when relaxed

…spiritual/intellectual maintenance
1)started using Buddhify apps
2)explore more ritual groups in the area
3)perform magic for myself (most has really been for other people.)
