Write Yourself Right: the 4 questions, and the attitude towards them

1. Am I hungry?
Often, I eat when I’m bored. In fact boredom is my biggest overeating trigger.

2. Is this what I feel like eating?
Often when I am hungry, I’m so hungry that I can’t identify what I want to eat. So while the answer is usually “no” I’m not good at coming up with alternatives and go straight to my usual standbys of dairy and chips.

3. Is this what I feel like eating right now?
Again, often not.

4. Is there something else I could eat instead?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Often yes – I do have an awful lot of canned soup available, and with farmer’s market season lots of fresh veggies not to mention what I have in my own balcony garden.
